Thumpstar Pit Bike

Off-Roaders Who Want to Get Down Dirty Are Taking a Look at Thumpstar Pit Bikes

Up until ten years ago, pit bikes (mini motorcycles) were used primarily for riding around the pits or staging area or pits at motocross races. However, over the past decade or so, vehicles such as the Thumpstar pit bike have become extremely popular vehicles for racing in their own motocross type races throughout the United States (especially out west around Southern California)thanks to dirt bike flicks such as “Crusty Demons of Dirt 3”. The film, which was released in 2001, demonstrated just what kind of versatility these mini bikes could actually do.

Although Japanese mini bikes have dominated the market for years, Chinese manufacturers such as Thumpstar are now giving them a run for their money. In fact avid off-road racing enthusiasts now taking a look at the Thumpstar pit bike are seeing a great little vehicle ideal for tough tracks. Not only are they fast and agile, delivering even power in all four gears, they are far less expensive than either Kawasakis or Hondas of the same size. In fact, a brand new, fully “tricked out” pit bike from Thumpstar costs about $1500 (nearly four thousand less than it would cost to accessorize the others, which are generally sold “bone stock.” In addition, consumers have reported that they even prefer the Thumpstar suspension to that on a standard Honda, and find them “more attractive” visually as well as price-wise.

Yet, while Thumpstars are great for “kids,” Braap bikes of Australia prides itself in producing dirtbikes for “adults” in a range of high quality models to suit the needs of everyone from “bush riders to racers.” In fact, some racers at the World MINI SX in Vegas have touted the Maestro 150cc as the “best motorcycle of its type,” allowing that the dirt bikes from the “land down under” are fast rising to the top of the world.
